My recent reading has consisted mostly of borrowed books. I read three books in Charlaine Harris's Lily Bard mystery series (96. Shakespeare's Christmas, 97. Shakespeare's Trollop, and 98. After writing that mammoth entry about VM, I feel pretty empty and will just write a small book entry. The Gate of Gods, the third book in the "Fall of Ile-Rien" trilogy by Martha Wells brought the series to a satisfying conclusion though leaving the field open for more books about the world(s) used in the trilogy ( Read more... )

I had a great time at the Worldcon in Glasgow. This was my first Worldcon, and if I ever manage to save enough money, I think I'd like to try one of the American Worldcons as well. Though Japan in 2007 also sounds pretty interesting ( Read more... )

What does it tell about my priorities, that the first thing (after returning all possible data from backups, etc.) I did was to download some pretty wallpapers (John Abraham, especially) and to remake my Kingdom of Heaven wallpaper from a pic in dangermousie's journal...

Continuing to read old favourites after the Alanna series. This time it was The Element of Fire by Martha Wells. It's her first published novel, but on rereading, it's as excellent as ever.
